LYON OL HUMILIATED: A SOCCER MASSACRE IN ARLES
What we witnessed today was not a football match; it was a tactical execution. FC Arles-Avignon turned the pitch into their personal playground, dismantling Lyon OL with a ruthless 5-0 victory that left the visitors looking like they had forgotten the basic rules of the sport. The nightmare for Lyon OL began in the 30th minute when a conceded foul led directly to a masterclass free-kick goal by FC Arles-Avignon. It was downhill from there, as Lyon OL managed only a single shot on target all afternoon, proving that their presence on the field was purely ceremonial. ⚽
The misery for Lyon OL was compounded by a complete lack of composure, racking up five fouls and suffering an unfortunate injury by the 35th minute. Meanwhile, FC Arles-Avignon was relentless, peppering the goal with eight shots on target and another eight off-target efforts that kept the opposition defense in a state of constant panic. Whether it was the clinical finish in the 48th minute or the relentless pressure that led to the third goal in the 79th, FC Arles-Avignon played with a hunger that Lyon OL simply could not match.
By the final whistle, the scoreboard painted a brutal picture of reality. Lyon OL limped away from the stadium, having barely touched the ball, while FC Arles-Avignon celebrated a dominant performance that will be remembered as a total embarrassment for the visitors. If this is how Lyon OL intends to compete, they might be better off sticking to training drills. An absolute masterclass from the home side, and a day to forget for the travelers. 🤡
