A Total Meltdown: FC JOSE Hands La Castelias a Birthday Gift on a Silver Platter
What we witnessed today was less of a football match and more of a public service announcement on how not to play the beautiful game. FC JOSE arrived on the pitch with the tactical discipline of a group of toddlers in a candy shop, managing to commit three fouls and earn a spectacular red card by the 29th minute. It is truly an art form to leave your team hanging before the half-hour mark, essentially turning the match into a glorified training session for La Castelias. While La Castelias struggled with their aim early on, firing shots into orbit, they eventually realized that their opponents were essentially playing with a ghost squad. 🤡
The second half was a masterclass in patience from La Castelias, who finally decided to stop practicing their long-distance ball retrieval and actually hit the target. After a goalless slog, the floodgates opened in the 67th minute, breaking the spirit of the remaining FC JOSE players who looked like they would rather be literally anywhere else. A cheeky free-kick goal in the 82nd minute followed by a final nail in the coffin at the 85th minute sealed a 3-0 victory that felt more like a mercy killing than a competitive sporting event.
Statistically, FC JOSE managed the impressive feat of recording zero shots on target throughout the entire duration of the match. One has to wonder if they forgot that the goalposts are the white things at the ends of the field. Meanwhile, La Castelias walked away with a comfortable win, despite their own brief moment of madness involving a yellow card. If this is the level of competition we are looking forward to, I suggest we all start bringing pillows to the stadium next time. ⚽️
