Match editorial

Cigales Humiliate Rodez AF in a Second-Half Masterclass

What a spectacular collapse for Rodez AF! After taking the lead in the 41st minute via a cheeky corner kick, they clearly thought they could pack up their bags and go home early. The first half was a scrappy affair with Cigales fluffing their lines repeatedly, but the momentum shifted violently after the break. Rodez AF decided that committing five fouls was a better defensive strategy than actually tracking back, a decision that proved catastrophic when a penalty was gifted to Cigales in the 51st minute. ⚽

Once the equalizer hit the back of the net, the floodgates didn't just open; they were ripped off their hinges. Cigales turned into a clinical machine, firing seven shots on target while Rodez AF looked like they were playing in slow motion. By the 57th minute, the home side had already flipped the script, leaving the visitors chasing shadows and desperately clutching at jerseys to stop the bleeding. It was a total tactical meltdown for Rodez AF, who spent more time arguing with the referee than defending their own goal.

The final nail in the coffin came in the 90th minute, wrapping up a dominant 4-1 victory for Cigales. While Rodez AF can claim they had a few moments of glory, the reality is that they were outclassed, outplayed, and frankly, out of their depth. Cigales fans were left singing in the stands, celebrating a win that was as chaotic as it was deserved. If this is how Rodez AF plans to spend their season, they might want to consider switching to a sport that doesn't involve so much running. Absolute scenes! 🔥
