SHARKS 61 AND WESTEROS FC: A COMEDY OF ERRORS ENDS IN A STALEMATE
What a spectacular display of absolute mediocrity we witnessed today! The clash between Les Sharks 61 and Westeros FC ended in a 2-2 draw that left everyone in the stands questioning their life choices. For the first hour, Westeros FC looked like they had actually practiced, seizing a 2-0 lead by the 59th minute. They played with the grace of a drunken dragon, racking up six fouls and a yellow card just to prove they were technically present on the pitch. Meanwhile, Les Sharks 61 spent the first half firing shots into the stratosphere, seemingly trying to hit a passing airplane rather than the goal net. ⚽
Just when it seemed the fans were ready to walk out and find a hobby that doesn't involve watching Westeros FC tackle everything that moves, the script flipped. Les Sharks 61 finally remembered that the goal is the big white thing at the end of the field. After a lackluster start, they clawed their way back into the game, proving that even a team that misses ten shots can stumble into a draw if they try hard enough. The sheer panic in the Westeros FC defense during the final ten minutes was the only entertaining part of the afternoon, as they desperately tried to hold onto a lead they clearly didn't deserve.
By the 90th minute, Les Sharks 61 were throwing everything including the kitchen sink at the Westeros FC goalkeeper, but the final whistle mercifully put us all out of our misery. Both sides walked away with a point, which feels like a generous reward for a match defined by chaotic fouls and enough missed shots to fill a blooper reel. If this is the peak of the championship, I think I’ll take up competitive knitting instead. Same level of excitement, but with significantly fewer yellow cards. 🤡
