Massacre at the Stadium: FC Trélazé Turns stelille into a Training Dummy
What we witnessed today was less of a football match and more of a public execution masquerading as a professional game. FC Trélazé arrived on the pitch with the hunger of a pack of wolves, while stelille seemed to have arrived with the collective ambition of a group of statues. By the third minute, the net was already rippling, and by the end of the first half, the scoreline was already a humiliating 4-0. It was a masterclass in efficiency for FC Trélazé, who peppered the goal with eleven shots on target, while stelille spent their time practicing their tactical fouling, culminating in a yellow card at the 22nd minute that served as their only real contribution to the afternoon. ⚽
The second half offered no mercy for the visitors. FC Trélazé continued to toy with their prey, adding four more goals to the tally. A beautiful free-kick at the 60th minute was the highlight of a second half that saw stelille completely lose the plot. With zero shots on target and four fouls to their name, stelille looked like they were auditioning for a role in a slapstick comedy rather than a league championship. The final 8-0 scoreline is almost generous, considering how completely FC Trélazé dominated every blade of grass, leaving their opponents to wonder if they might have been better off staying on the bus. 🤡
As the final whistle blew, the contrast between the two sides could not have been more stark. FC Trélazé walked off the pitch with their heads held high, having put on a clinic of clinical finishing and relentless pressure. Meanwhile, stelille looked like they were desperate for a time machine to rewrite the last ninety minutes. If this is the level of competition we are to expect, FC Trélazé should probably start preparing for their next trophy ceremony, while stelille might want to consider a career change—perhaps something less contact-heavy, like competitive knitting.
