A football game with no download

No installation, no app store, no update to download: the game opens in your browser and you start playing. It is a constraint a lot of players have — a computer you are not allowed to modify, a phone whose storage is full, or simply the wish to try something without installing it first.

How it actually works

Foot-Land is a football management game that runs entirely online. Your club, your squad, your finances and your results are stored on the server, not on your device. Your browser only displays the interface and passes on your decisions.

That has three practical consequences. You use no storage space. You never have an update to install, since everyone is permanently on the latest version. And you can change device at any moment: open the site on another screen, log in, and your club is exactly as you left it.

No storage used

Nothing is stored on your phone or computer. Useful when memory is full or the device is starting to show its age.

No updates

New features arrive on the server side. You reload the page and you have them, with nothing to do.

The same club everywhere

Desktop at work, phone on the commute, tablet in the evening: it is the same game carrying on.

What you are actually playing

Installing nothing does not mean the game is shallow. Foot-Land has been running since 2004 and offers full management of a football club:

  • A club of your own — name, badge, kit, and a stadium to build and expand.
  • Finances to keep in order — gate receipts, club shop, and a wage bill due every week.
  • A squad to develop — group training for the whole squad, or specific training to specialise a player in his position.
  • A transfer market — buy, sell, develop youngsters and sell them on.
  • Live matches — which you follow and intervene in: substitutions and instructions can be changed while the game runs.
  • Competitions — leagues by level, knockout cups and a World Cup.

And you are not playing against the computer: the opposing clubs are run by other managers, which makes every league different from the last.

No installation — but an icon if you want one

Installing nothing is an option, not an obligation. If you enjoy the game and want to reach it in one tap, two routes are open to you, both entirely optional:

Option What it changes What it takes
Play in the browser Nothing to do — open the address and play A recent browser
Install from the browser An icon on your home screen and a full-screen display A few seconds, with no app store
Android app Native icon and notifications A download from the Play Store
Worth noting: whichever route you choose, it is the same account and the same club. You can start in the browser and install the app later without losing anything.

A few minutes a day is enough

This is a management game, not an action game: it does not ask for long sessions. You set your training instructions, adjust your line-up before the next match, keep an eye on your finances. The match is a daily appointment: one fixture a day, played in real time across ninety minutes. You are free to follow all of it, intervening as it runs, or to read the report afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

Is there really nothing to install?
Nothing at all. You open the page in your browser, create your club and play. No executable, no extension, no plugin.
Which devices does it work on?
Any device with a recent browser: a Windows, Mac or Linux computer, a tablet, an Android phone or an iPhone. The game adapts to the screen size.
What language is the game in?
The game interface is currently in French. These pages are English, and an English version is being worked on, but if you sign up today you will be managing your club in French. Worth knowing before you create an account rather than after.
Can I still have an icon on my home screen?
Yes. The site can be installed as an app from the browser, which adds an icon without going through an app store. An Android app is also available if you prefer that.
Is my progress kept if I change device?
Yes. Everything is stored on the server, tied to your account. You pick your club up exactly where you left it, from any connected device.
Are there limitations compared with an installed app?
Not for the game itself: club management, live matches and competitions are identical. Installing from the browser or using the Android app mainly buys you the convenience of an icon and notifications.
Does it work on a work or school computer?
In most cases yes, since it requires no installation and runs over standard web ports. It comes down purely to the filtering policy of the network in question.

Start without installing anything

It all happens in this window — there is nothing to download.

"Play now" creates your club straight away, with no email address and no password. Signing up the usual way lets you choose your own username and club name.
